Sport Relief Swim 2012

This weekend was our swim for Sport Relief. Our aim was to complete 140 miles in 12 hours, overnight. After the first 45 mins we were 108 lengths behind target so we were a little bit worried that we wouldn't make it as that was a lot to be behind so early on. We all put in as much effort as we could and quickly became ahead of target and managed to actually do 144 miles in 9 hrs and 45 mins which is a massive 9,218 lengths! I think the thought of being able to finish early was what kept us going throughout the early hours of the morning, swimming all night is not easy! I think almost everyone managed to stay awake for the whole night but I soon fell asleep when I got home, not for long though as I was back at work yesterday afternoon for what felt like the longest shift in the world. Thankfully i've now got 2 days off to recover.

The picture is one of us all after the swim including the helpers who came to count lengths and provide us with food and drinks and general support. We had so many members of the public come to see us all start off too which was great.

Although we have now completed the swim we are still looking for donations so anyone wishing to donate to sport relief can do so at:
