Just the Two of Us

On Friday afternoon we headed off to mum and dads for the weekend. It was really hot travelling and due to there being some earlier accidents on the M5 and M6 it took forever to get there. We arrived just before 7, had some dinner and then Me, Mum and Dad took the dogs for a nice long walk.

.
We took the dogs to a stream which starts from Fair Oak and walked along the path up to Slitting Mill. It was really hot so the dogs were in and out of the stream for the whole walk and came back absolutely soaked. mum thought it would be a good idea to paddle with them at one point but she ended up wetter than them I think!
.
Yesterday me and Brian had a lovely day, just the two of us. We were booked onto a Canine Massage Workshop for Agility Dogs and it was fantastic. It was held just outside Bromsgrove.
In the morning we learnt about the dogs bone and Muscle structure and common problem areas in dogs. We took a break for lunch and took the dogs to Sanders Park in Bromsgrove for an hour. Brian had a great time, he swam in a horrible Boggy Pond with the ducks and then had a splash about in a clean stream to rinse off. In the afternoon part of the workshop we learnt how to warm our dogs up with massage techniques for before agility and how to cool them down after. It was a very informative course. Brian seemed to have fallen for the lady (Nat) who took us for the course, whenever she came over to him he went all silly and tried to get her to stroke him. As it's Brian's birthday in July I have decided to book him in for a Massage with Nat as a treat.
.

This morning me and mum took the dogs back down to the stream for one more walk, they had a good splash about and run around before lunch. They had a relax in the garden for a bit and had a nice Sunday dinner before we headed off back home. I think after their weekend of excitement they are shattered as the are all fast asleep.

A busy week

Since Monday I dont feel like we have stopped. We have been really busy at work and I didn't make it to Megan's puppy class on Wednesday either. The girls both went to agility training last night though and it went well. Me and Megan go to show what we had practiced for our homework and she was excellent. We learnt a few more things and have got some practicing to do for next week. I was really pleased with Megans concentration, she was very focussed for the whole time (about 35 mins). Heidi and Conor did well in their class by all accounts, unfortunately I cant watch them as their class runs at the same time as ours. I did see them practicing their A frame contact though and got it spot on with her stopping dead at the bottom.

Tomorrow me and Brian have our canine massage workshop, Conor was supposed to be staying here with the girls but he has to go to Darlington tomorrow now with work so this afternoon me and the three monsters are going to my mum and dads and mum is having the girls for me tomorrow. I'm not sure yet if we are coming back tomorrow evening or Sunday, we have no plans so we shall see how it goes.

Video Tests

I just thought I'd test to see if videos work okay on here as that was the problem we had most of the time on our old blog so hopefully below is a video of Heidi doing agility at a competition a few weeks ago in Oxford.

Water Babies

This morning we managed to do some training with the doggies, Brian worked on his weaves, I have wanted to increase his speed on his weaves but hadn't decided how to go about it. A few weeks ago we brought him a tuggie with animal fur on the end, the only toy I have ever managed to get him to play with and using it as s guide worked really well! Megan practiced her homework for Thursday night and Heidi practiced weaves as well as learnt Meg's homework.

The weather has been really hot and sunny today, even though we had thunderstorms forcast for the whole day. As it was hot we took the dogs back up to the pools so that they could have a splash about and a cool off. (And today I actually remembered my camera and Memory card!)

Megan was very brave today and decided to give swimming a go and she did it! She didn't go out to the middle like Brian does but she had a good go at swimming around the edge.

After their swim we took them for a bit of a walk before heading back home and where it has been so hot today they have spent most of the day sleeping indoors where it is a little cooler (not on my bed today though as they are quite muddy!) Unfortunately back to work tomorrow so I hope it rains.
